Weekend Recap: New Year's Fun

Happy New Year to all!

2015 was such a jam packed year, so here's to hopefully slowing down and being able to breathe in 2016! We are buying a house this year, celebrating a second birthday for Charlotte in March and a 1st birthday for Riley in September but I want this year to be focused on family time and just enjoying sitting around the house watching football, or cooking dinner together, or playing video games together!  Scott and I are huge Battlefield 4 players so any time we get the chance to play we do. We have a PS3 in the bedroom and in the living room now, since he doesn't take one on the road with him anymore, so we are those parents that play video games with each other in the same house haha. Charlotte was out of the house spending some quality time with Mimi and Riley was sitting with momma or napping so we had about an hour and a half of quality time with just him and I doing our thing, which doesn't happen often. Other than putting the Christmas tree away, insert crying eyes here, and doing laundry it was a pretty laid back relaxing New Years and Weekend!

It was nap time, but she didn't want me to lay her down in her crib...so this is where she fell asleep and I carried her to bed after

She loves her Doc McStuffins toy that she got from one of our wonderful neighbors. She loves checking her pets constantly

Shopping is fun with these two, and Charlotte she just isn't in the picture :)

Adorable little in her sweater dress!

I had a little one-on-one time with these two on New Year's Eve while the hubby ran some errands and they both wanted to sit in my lap and watch football.

Hubby and I right before midnight, watching the Alabama-Michigan State game

Wearing his first set of Jeans on the first day of 2016

This cutie had everyone talking and laughing and smiling while we waited to be seated for breakfast! Started the New Year with pancakes and a health scare with Riley's thumb.

Home on New Year's just enjoying family time, and football

Love this little boy!

He's learning to use his hands. He will grab the toys he has, and he will even hold his own hands!

Grocery shopping with my little elf

He turned 3 months old on Christmas Day, but it took me until Sunday to actually post the pictures, and these were my favorite three!

On New Year's Day we bundled up and went to breakfast as a family of four to get some pancakes! Well, we waited about 45 minutes with two kids and no room to run around but managed. During that time, I was watching Riley holding Scott's hand and noticed his thumb was very puffy, red, and looked about twice it's size so immediately I freaked out. With little babies, it is sometimes common for strings, or thread, or even hair to get wrapped around their toes, or fingers, or anywhere honestly and if you don't see it, well it can get inflamed and potentially make that appendage fall off if left untreated long enough. I don't know what was around Riley's thumb, but it was bright red and I pulled some fuzz off of his finger at some point. I worried constantly for about 12 hours before the red line started to go down, and today his thumb is much much better. I don't know for sure if there was something wrapped around his thumb, or if he got a cut and had something in it so it got infected, but either way I definitely pay much more attention to the fingers now, instead of just glancing over the fingers and focusing on the toes! It was scary but I took care of it, had my momma guilt bad for 12 hours then snapped out of it because he is better and his thumb wasn't hurting him so I knew it was not bothering him. I will definitely be following up with the doctor at his appointment next Monday but for now, everything seems to have returned to normal!

So despite the health scare, we had a wonderful New Year's and weekend and I cannot wait to see what adventures we go on this year as a family of four!
Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful weekend and here's to a great Monday!

XOXO

Show and Tell Tuesday! House Tour 2016

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Today I am linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday! Today it is House Tour! I have always loved these posts, but have never participated in one because of the fact that we were in a two bedroom apartment, which was tiny for our family of four. This past April we bought our home and moved in and three months later we are finally here at this post and I am so excited to join along and invite you all into our home! It is still a work in progress and none of the walls have been re-painted but I am loving all the grey tones for now, it keeps the home neutral and cool until I feel like spicing things up! Come on in!  We are still decorated from Fourth of July, but here is the front entrance.  When you walk into our home this is the first thing you see. There is a hallway to the left of the staircase, and to the right is the dining room. This is our formal dining room! I need to do an updated tour of this room but for now I b...

2019 Year In Review: Part 3

Hello!  It is such a hard time in the world right now. It has been a couple months since I last wrote, life has been busy, but while everyone is social distancing, staying home, and doing our part to get rid of this nasty virus I wanted to post some memories of last year to remember. October-December of 2019 were packed full of activities, and just going through the pictures is exhausting, so I have no idea how I even kept up! Grab a drink, and cozy up and I hope you enjoy! October  October started out with birthday naps. All three kiddos are in the same room, and I was laying on the bed with Skyler and we all napped and was just what this momma needed for her birthday!  Hubby brought me the most beautiful flowers for my day and we got booed, by a mystery neighbor Naps were had, especially in mommy's arms  and all of the kindergarten crafts occurred. We painted a pumpkin after her favorite book character Ferdinand.  Quick f...
