Day in the Life: February 2017

Hey y'all! Today I am sharing a day in our crazy life, well sometimes crazy life! I picked a random day to record a day and I chose this past Tuesday February 7, 2017 to show what a typical day is like.

So let's get started :)

I had an alarm set for 5, 5:30, and 6 and slept through them all which is not like me at all. At 6:20 I woke up in a panic not knowing where I was! Charlotte was making noise at 6:30 so I grabbed her on my way downstairs.

I said good morning to the hubby who was working on paperwork  and then made myself a cup of coffee! I am still so very happy with our choice in purchasing a Keurig! It's the best and we can even make our own coffee instead of use boxes of those cups they sell so it gives a lot of offers in the morning which I love!

I then started on the dishes!
I like to run the dishwasher over night so that when I get up I can put dishes away and then reload it before the kiddos start running in and out and destroying the place. Riley is in that phase where he will take the dishes out that I just put in the dishwasher, so I aim to get them done before he is up and running

Since this girl was up early and I didn't want her waking her brother she followed me around and she asked for a banana so I let her have one. Next thing I know I turn from doing dishes and she is wearing a cowboy hat and eating her banana and it was the sweetest thing I've ever seen

I then realized I did not take a picture at 6:20 so decided 7 would do since this is about the time everything went crazy!

When the high schooler still said she felt sick that meant the middle schooler gets a ride to school. That's the rule so that they aren't standing at the bus stop alone. So I made bottles and to go cereal for the babies because breakfast would be on the go this morning.

Then I got myself dressed and brushed my teeth and hair

And this little brushed her teeth with me!

It was 7:30 by this time and we have to be out the door by 7:45 so that we are not late. Luckily today he was all cuddles and no tears when I woke him up!

And 10 minutes  later these two are dressed and have a few toys for the car

By 7:43 we are all strapped in the car and ready to watch octonauts and get on the road.

When the girls are not sick they ride the bus so this part of our routine is often not here. I don't normally have to rush the babies into the car and Riley normally gets to sleep until 8 when he wakes up by himself and then we go about our day but sometimes things change :)

Once we get home Ollie goes out to the backyard where he can run around, eat and do whatever he likes. He mostly sleeps in the sun and will get up and move around depending on the movement of the sun. (He has a dog house that hubs built for him but often times he is along the sun line soaking up some rays)

Then it is time for laundry, the never ending chore

By the time I return to the kiddos, they have destroyed the playroom, including the three year old writing on the wall, which she never does

So we took a minute to clean up a little bit so that we could function without stepping on every toy they own

Once that was done I moved to my bedroom where I made the bed and picked up a little.

Finally at 9:15 I got to sit down and try and eat which consisted of a pop tart on this day and try and get some work done.

But that didn't last long because Mommy's boy came running to find me

And made it necessary that I sit and watch Elena of Avalor with them

So I moved to mobile to read blogs and do any work that had to be done right away

By 10:30 it was diaper changes and change of pants for this kid because his jeans are way too big and kept falling off of him.

We then played a word game where the kiddos trace the letter and get a prize every three letters so they were excited to do that before it was nap time.

At 12 o'clock sharp I have them in bed. Sometimes it's sooner but during the week it is never past 12 o'clock or Riley is a bear and will not even lay down.

Then it is a quick lunch for me (leftover Tacos, Yum) and then I put the dishes away that were run in the morning and sweep the floor.
Then I take quiet time for myself and just read and reflect and try not to get distracted by anything else

At 3:15 these two are up, downstairs, changed and eating lunch which is corn dogs and fruit today with one cartoon while they eat.

After lunch we color the minions

And then bake brownies

Little brother wants a turn to stir so we get on the floor and let him help out!

Then while the brownies are baking it is time to read our library books!

I try to remain screen free after nap time so that the kiddos are not watching much TV during the day. We play, do puzzles, draw, color, read, and even bake sometimes to keep ourselves busy and away from TV and phones and what not. Sometimes it works other times I need the games on my iPad to distract the kids from an epic meltdown but most of the time we are good and can handle different activities.

Some yucky clouds were moving in and I couldn't help but take pictures

This picture doesn't do it justice but it was pouring rain on our front porch and the sun was setting over the field, it was so neat and something I had never seen before

Dinner tonight was fish sticks, peas, and mashed potatoes. All four of the kiddos love fish sticks so they were all excited to see that this is what we were having for dinner

And then we had brownies for dessert! These were so yummy!!

The kiddos were yucky and covered in food so into the bath we went
Then it was time for pj's

And reading with Mimi. My mom reads to the kids over Facetime and while that is happening Riley is bringing me all the books to read so I have a good collection by the time reading is over.

After the kiddos go to bed I have a glass of wine and hubby and I either watch a show or play a video game to wind down. We don't often get to go on date nights because we never know when Scott will be home or running the road so our nights together once all the kids are upstairs are spent catching up and enjoying each others company and reflecting on our life. We love our alone time together and keeps our marriage strong :)

I then head upstairs and set my alarms so I can get the kids up for getting ready for school and hubby up for work and then brush my teeth and wash my face and then hit the pillow.

By 10:15 lights are out!

So that was our Tuesday! Busy but fun at the same time!

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to all! It's been a wonderful family weekend! Unfortunately our Memorial Day ended early, since Scott is now headed to work. He has to be in Miami, 7 am tomorrow! Yuck. Luckily Monday is almost over and we only have to make it until Friday until we see him again! Trying to stay positive and look at it as a good thing, not a bad. It is hard to see him leave, but I know he has to go to work. Charlotte was sad but luckily nap time was soon after he left so she transitioned into sleep fine. She will be upset when she gets up in a few but lots of cuddles, cartoons and playing until bed time will keep her preoccupied. We are headed to the beach this weekend, and then staying down there for the week while Scott works, but we will all be together and Mommy and Charlotte will be looking at houses while Daddy works so we will stay occupied with that and lots of pool time! Cannot wait until this week is over. May is almost over, then June is here! Cannot believe that! ...

Show and Tell Tuesday: School Photos

Happy Tuesday! Today I am joining Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday's and today we are showing Worst School Pictures! I have a combination of good and bad school pictures just to mix it up a little bit!  Little baby Cat right before Pre-K!  Back in 2005, I was in middle school and going through a short hair and converse phase where I wore a lot of black and tried to fit in with a certain group of people! I was such a goof And Throwing it back to 2004! Aren't I just cute?!  Senior Year of High School  Senior Year pictures! I had ridiculously long hair that didn't like to cooperate for pictures! Then I chopped all of my hair off before going off to college Kept it short second year of college And finally grew it out and even colored it, I was in a rebellious stage it seemed! Those are my worst and best school pictures! I don't have too many pictures from my school days just because everything was thrown away when I lef...

Life Lately!

Happy Monday! Its a little life lately post to catch up on our past week! I started back to school for my Masters, Scott started his senior year of undergrad and life has gone crazy!  This little is working on sitting up, and finding all of his toys that he didn't know he had until he became mobile. He isn't crawling but he is really good at rolling himself around the place!  With sister in school all day these two are becoming best friends! I'll catch Skyler pulling R's hair, but I will also catch them laughing and playing and reading together! It's the sweetest little bond!  He enjoyed rolling himself underneath his crib a lot, all while I was sitting in the room with him! He loves to explore, even when it means momma has to rescue him from under the bed :P Afternoon cartons, goldfish and playing with toys We have been reading lots of books lately, we are going to the library this week to get some books but Ri has enjoyed reading wha...
