Weekend Recap: Long weekend edition

Hey Ya'll!

Happy Wednesday! Today it is all about the weekend around here! We had a pretty busy weekend so let's get started!

Friday was spent making a mess and hanging around the house! I looked over and saw these two just sitting nicely with each other while watching cartoons and it made my momma heart smile because they were finally just quiet! We also played outside but I didn't take many pictures on Friday!

Saturday we had so many plans, but they all fell apart so the babies and I just hung outside and rode our bikes and played and played and played! Then we had to take the teenagers shopping for some new pants for school and then we came home and made extra fun messes with dessert!

He was covered in chocolate! We made pumpkin patches, a recipe I found on Pinterest and this boy absolutely loved them! Just crushed Oreos, some chocolate pudding and candy corn pumpkins make dessert so much fun!

Sunday started a little early! We ate eggs for breakfast and this little boy was licking his plate and then we hopped into the car and four and a half hours later we were checked into our hotel and

looking out Mimi's windows!

laying on mimi's carpet is fun too!

we stayed until about 7:45 and got to eat a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner and the babies got a bath and then it was off to our hotel to sleep. We watched a few cartoons and these two were so sweet and cuddled up with me.

and then off to bed!

Surprisingly even though there were five of us in one room we all slept well except for one little wake  up at 1 am when sister sat on brother but we got nice and cuddled up again and I found them like this at 7:30.

Breakfast was fun with these goofs

and then it was off to the dentist.

Riley has been terrified of getting in the chair, but this time he saw Charlotte get her teeth cleaned and when she was done he hopped right up and let them look at his teeth too! It was a very exciting time because we are making progress with Riley! Soon he will be getting his teeth cleaned too!

While big sisters got their teeth cleaned these two got to play with all the toys and even watch some Netflix when they started to get antsy because we were there for quite a while!

As a treat we got Mexican for lunch from my favorite restaurant, La Parilla! It is simply the best and I love it so much :)

and then arrived home for a beautiful sunset at 6 pm that night. It rained the entire way home so I was thankful for sleeping kids, and a movie for the last thirty minutes and for sunshine when we got home.

Why do we drive all the way to Mimi's for dentist appointments you ask? Well I have been going to this same dentist for my entire life, well since I was about 10. My mom started working at this dentist office and we have been going ever since, and she still works there. It is like a second family to me, and Charlotte practically grew up there. When we lived five minutes away from Mimi for two years Charlotte and I would go visit Mimi all the time. So she was used to going and seeing all the different things and she would see Mommy get in the chair for cleanings and so she would want to try. Then we moved down to where we are now, and Riley never got the opportunity to get comfortable with the dentist. I trust these people, they love my kids and we get to visit Mimi so it all works out. Yeah the four hour drives suck but we split it into two days so it is easier on the kids and we get to see family we don't normally get to see, so some may think oh that is so inconvenient or I would never do that but I love my mom and my kiddos love their Mimi and these people are like family to us and so we are going to continue going to this dentist!  :) :)
So that was our weekend, started out chill and relaxed and turned into absolute insanity!
I hope everyone has a great day and see y'all soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Show and Tell Tuesday! House Tour 2016

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Today I am linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday! Today it is House Tour! I have always loved these posts, but have never participated in one because of the fact that we were in a two bedroom apartment, which was tiny for our family of four. This past April we bought our home and moved in and three months later we are finally here at this post and I am so excited to join along and invite you all into our home! It is still a work in progress and none of the walls have been re-painted but I am loving all the grey tones for now, it keeps the home neutral and cool until I feel like spicing things up! Come on in!  We are still decorated from Fourth of July, but here is the front entrance.  When you walk into our home this is the first thing you see. There is a hallway to the left of the staircase, and to the right is the dining room. This is our formal dining room! I need to do an updated tour of this room but for now I b...

2019 Year In Review: Part 3

Hello!  It is such a hard time in the world right now. It has been a couple months since I last wrote, life has been busy, but while everyone is social distancing, staying home, and doing our part to get rid of this nasty virus I wanted to post some memories of last year to remember. October-December of 2019 were packed full of activities, and just going through the pictures is exhausting, so I have no idea how I even kept up! Grab a drink, and cozy up and I hope you enjoy! October  October started out with birthday naps. All three kiddos are in the same room, and I was laying on the bed with Skyler and we all napped and was just what this momma needed for her birthday!  Hubby brought me the most beautiful flowers for my day and we got booed, by a mystery neighbor Naps were had, especially in mommy's arms  and all of the kindergarten crafts occurred. We painted a pumpkin after her favorite book character Ferdinand.  Quick f...
