Happy Wednesday!
If ya'll missed that post I will link it here!
So let's get started!
This hospital was a completely new experience for me! We have moved down to the Savannah area, and so I delivered this baby in a different hospital from my other three sweet babies! I was nervous but excited to meet our newest addition, but I most definitely overpacked!I packed my eye glasses case, some extra change, and my laptop charger for my laptop, and of these three items the only one I used was my eye glass case when I was in surgery, so they wouldn't break my glasses, or lose them, since they were left in the triage area that we were in before being wheeled back for surgery.
So I packed a notebook for recording things, such as when his diaper was changed or which side he was eating on and so on, but just ended up using my phone because I couldn't get out of bed so I didn't actually end up using that. The undergarments and pads I didn't use because pads were provided and I used the mesh underwear once I could get up and move around! The baby wipes I also didn't use at the hospital, but we ended up using them later at a doctor's visit.
The toiletries, I used the face wipes to wash up after surgery and Aquaphor and the hair ties, but everything else was left alone since I didn't take a shower this time since it took longer to get out of bed, and we were only in the hospital for two days. I was unable to stand for long periods of time so a shower was just out of the question. I showered as soon as I got home though, and it made me feel like a whole new person!
the qtips I didn't use but the deodorant, chapstick and i definitely brushed my teeth! The end of the first full day and the second day I put on the gray t-shirt to wear while guests were around, but other than that, I just wore my nursing bra.
.
I packed two nursing camis, but didn't end up wearing them and wore my pajama shirt the minute i could get out of the hospital gown! It is soft and comfy and just what I needed to be comfortable! Plus it felt good to not have my butt hanging out anymore!
I packed a back-up skirt so in case the pair of pants I packed didn't work out and so I could be comfortable with my scar, and I also packed a couple pair of comfy socks to keep my feet warm, but just ended up staying in the socks provided! Fun fact-the previous hospital i delivered at didn't provide socks so that was a fun new thing at this delivery!
I forgot to post this picture in my original post but I packed a pair of pjs and a pair of sweats since with my other babies I wore more clothing under my hospital gown because I was so self-concious about my butt hanging out. This time around I didn't care and wasn't able to walk as well so these stayed tucked away in my bag! I also packed a flannel for hubby and a change of pants, but he only ended up putting on the flannel since he got cold and he went home all three days we were at the hospital to check on our other kiddos who were staying at our house with family!
The black shirt that was posted previously is the shirt i chose to wear out of the hospital with the loosest pair of pants and stretchiest pair so I could fit them above and over my scar and belly! The nursing bra is the one I wore the entire time at the hospital after surgery even though I have two and could have changed it but I was tired and had two many wires attached at all times.
The last picture I don't know if it really counts since I didn't pack it, it was what I wore into the hospital but ended up in the bag when we left, but it was just a comfy pair of sweats that belong to hubby and my Mama Strong maternity shirt that I got from one of my best friends at my shower!
So there you have it! I used some things but definitely not all but i was happy with what I did pack because it made me feel at ease! We also had my laptop, our big camera, and my pillow, and I used my laptop once, we couldn't stop taking pictures with our phones as well as our big camera, and my pillow came in handy since I couldn't leave the bed very much at all! It did get better but the first day and a half was rough and the pillow helped me not only hold our sweet baby, but helped prop me up and sleep a little better too!
Whew that was long! I hope ya'll enjoyed and have a wonderful Wednesday! Halfway through this busy week! Woohoo :)
Thanks for stopping by!
