Riley's First Birthday Part 1: Saturday

Happy Wednesday!  Today I am writing about Riley's First Birthday! Riley celebrated twice this year, because my dad had surgery and was unable to travel down to our home for his birthday party! Instead of posting about the entire weekend I am going to split it up between two days, Saturday and Sunday! Saturday was a party for our neighbors and friends, that we work, with to attend and it was so much fun hosting a party at our home! We grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, and ribs and had chips and other things that go well with a cookout like beans and coleslaw and all that fun stuff! After that we opened gifts and then it was time for cake! I didn't start taking pictures until it was time to open gifts, since I was busy running around hosting!  Scott helped Riley open his gifts this time. I helped Charlotte with her first birthday so I thought it was super special that he helped his little boy on his first birthday! Riley got the best gifts! We are truly blessed to have s

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! It feels so good to be home and be able to cook meals and clean and use our own things! I really missed home, and having a hurricane come close to our home makes me love it even more now that we actually have something to come back to. Many people lost their lives, or their homes, and it is devastating, so I am very grateful for what I have! We had a very relaxing weekend, well relaxing for everyone but Char and I. We started Potty Training Friday and it was all but easy. She had some problems Friday she didnt go in the potty at all and I gave up cleaning the floor and we stayed outside the rest of the day , but Saturday she woke up and did it and was so proud of herself she has gone ever since and has not had an accident since, except for when I didn't believe she really has to go because she just got off the potty and had already gone. That has just happened once, and now I take her whenever she tells me when she needs to go. We are by no means done but the pr

Potty Training begins...

Happy Friday! We finally have internet, cable, power and water. Well, the water is off this morning because they are fixing a burst pipe but I got to take a shower last night and it was glorious! Today we start potty training the Char because she is two and a half and we have a three day weekend to just relax and rest around the house! I would have started earlier but we just got everything gathered now that the stores are starting to open up again after Hurricane Matthew. The amount is damage is incredible but we are pulling through and cleaning up our community slowly but surely! This was on Pinterest and I thought it was absolutely perfect for what we are doing today. Running around in underwear not leaving the house kind of things!  I will be back Monday for a Weekend Recap and hopefully a good report on the potty training! This is our second attempt at potty training, last time we tried she just wasn't ready! Wish us luck!  Have a great weekend and a fantastic Fr

Weekend Recap: Evacuated Edition

Finally made it to Monday!  So as many of you have probably seen on the news, Hurricane Matthew took a very destructive path through Haiti, the Bahamas, Cuba and the southeastern coast of the United States. Many people have been affected by this hurricane, including my family. We had to evacuate from our home, not knowing what we would come back to. I have never been so scared nor stressed in my life. The kids and I are safely in Athens, where the babies are having an extended sleepover with Mimi and Grandpa and the girls and I are in a hotel room. My husband however was not so lucky and is stuck at our home, with no power and water. Prayers would be greatly appreciated, and even though our home had no damage to it, our community, or neighborhood and our town has been destroyed. Rebuilding has begun but many people are in need to many things. Here is my weekend recap starting on Thursday afternoon when we left our home.  Thursday night we were in a hotel room 5 hours from home

Show and Tell Tuesday: Scary/Funny Story

Happy October! It has been a while since I blogged! Things are just a bit crazy, and trying to get into a schedule seems all but impossible right now. By the time the babies are in bed I am exhausted haha so I typically sit down and fall right to sleep! I miss blogging and after a long break, that was not intentional at first but soon became needed because of family drama, I am back. Today I am linking up for Show and Tell Tuesday and talking about Halloween stories: Scary or funny! Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, besides Christmas! I cannot decide between the two so I just say they are both my favorite! Now that I have littles it makes it all much more fun, because now I can share in the memoires with my babies, and I can introduce them to the wonderful world of pumpkins, candy, and costumes! This is as scary as our halloween got! I had a skeleton and a monster at the apartment!  The pumpkins we made for them, cute but scary :)  Last year was Char's
